Checking Out Cheap Spanish Holidays

Subscribe to I BLOG U CDO... by Email

Spanish holidays conger up different images for different people, depending on what it is we like about our sun-soaked neighbours to the south and what we most enjoy about spending time in other European countries. So for many of us, cheap Spanish holidays would be all about lying on a beach or by a hotel poolside sipping something cooling while reading a good book or messing around with the kids. All very much possible and not far from the mark but you could also take a weekend break in one of the great Spanish cities or try out one of the less visited regions like parts of Andalusia or Extremadura.

And of course, there is also plenty to be said for visiting the various islands that sit to the east in the case of the Balearics and well to the south in the case of the Canaries. What you'll find anywhere you visit in Spain is a huge amount of tradition, great food and quite wonderful weather for almost the entire year. No wonder then that it has been the go-to destination for British families, couples and groups of friends for generations.

Given its position as Britain and much of Europe's favourite place to holiday, it is unsurprising that the tourist industry in Spain's coastal areas in particular is very well advanced and well capable of catering to your needs whatever they might be. So if you're working with a tight budget but you'd love to spend a week or so in the sun later in the year then there are plenty of options available. From self-catered to full-board or all inclusive, there are so many cheap Spanish holidays on offer all year that you are sure to find the perfect deal for your purposes. You can book Thomas Cook holidays online these days in a  matter of minutes and there are added discounts offered to encourage online bookings.

Bon Bon Pastel

When people come to CDO, they usually do not leave without buying Pastel. And for so many years, it has been Vjandep Pastel that people have come to know. But due to the wide expansion of the Pastel enterprise, and to provide options and choices in the market, many Pastel brands have surfaced and made their mark too.

When Missy Bon Bon Breadshop opened in April 16, 2010, people immediately fell in love with their great tasting breads and pastries, as much as the many different selections of Missy Bon Bon Gelato. But people wondered why Missy Bon Bon didn't have Pastel as one of its offerings. Some even suggested, some requested, and still others continued to dream.

Of course, January 2012 is a dream come true for these dreamers. As Missy Bon Bon has launched the Missy Bon Bon Pastel. It comes in this really cute box, and the taste of the Missy Bon Bon Pastel is simply the best. Not too sweet, just right. And the bun? Unlike all the other brands, is soft and stays fresh even after a day or two. Other Pastel brands' buns hardens as days pass.

Anyway, last February 9, 2012, we were invited for the launching of Missy Bon Bon's Pasalubong Line. We joined in the press conference and had fun in the special edition trivia night where our team won 3rd place. Drop by Missy Bon Bon Breadshop and taste their Pasalubong items: Cheesy Sponge, Ensaymada, Pastel and of course, the house specialty Sweet Potato Bun.. Better yet, don't leave the shop without one or all of them.

So now, aside from the usual Pasalubong to buy before leaving Cagayan de Oro City, you have now the Missy Bon Bon line of Pasalubong items, especially the Bon Bon Pastel..

During the water shortage prior to TS Sendong, peopel had to line up for water rations by the different firetruck that serviced each area..
People had to have drums and barrels for the purpose of storing water...filling them each time rations would come...
And every refilling company's nightmare, as even these containers had to be used..
As for us, we are lucky we have the Balingasag Firetruck to service us, as well as the truck of Nanuri International School.. Thanks to them, we have water to use and bath.. I would also like to mention that my friend Debbie offered to have us wash clothes at her home, which was a great privilege at our time of need. Thanks to all of them who gave us, water.. or in binisaya, TUBIG...
